Growing up in Santa Cruz, California, I spent long days swimming in the ocean and running around the countryside developing a love of nature. I was first introduced to photography while working in advertising on the student newspaper at San Diego State University, where I attended school. Being self-taught, I learned by experimenting with the medium and now enjoy using it to follow my various fascinations with the world around me. Most often this involves nature and its delicate balance of chaos and order. The most recent images are a meditation on the ocean, sky and horizon taken over the last year here in Venice, California, where I live and work.
